A daily trivia game where every prompt has many right answers

Most daily trivia games give you ten multiple-choice questions, each with one right answer, so the day is decided by whether you happen to know those ten facts. The RareGuess Daily 7 works the other way round. Each of its 7 prompts, such as a country in Africa or a Pixar film, has dozens of correct answers, and nearly everyone can name one. The challenge is to name one that few people would think of, because the rarer your answer, the more it scores.

That changes how the game feels. There are no options to pick from, so you type what you know. A wrong answer only costs time, so you can try again. And two friends can both score on every prompt and still end the day far apart, depending on how far down the list each of them could reach. It takes about three minutes, it is the same for everyone, and it is free with no sign-up.

What is the RareGuess Daily 7?

The Daily 7 is a fixed set of 7 RareGuess prompts that is the same for everyone on the same day. Each prompt has many correct answers, and the aim is to name one that few people would think of. Each prompt shows for 3 seconds before the clock starts, then you get 25 seconds to answer. Wrong answers are simply refused, and a rarer answer sends you deeper into the ocean and scores more: 10, 15, 30, 60, 85 or 100 points, so a full round is worth up to 700.

When does the Daily 7 change?

A new set starts every day at midnight US Eastern time (05:00 UTC in winter, 04:00 UTC in summer). In Europe that is early morning; in East Asia it is the afternoon. The number after the # is the day count, so friends can check they played the same set.

How do I see the answers?

When you finish, the game links to today's answer page. It lists the rarest and the most common answers for each prompt, plus every accepted answer ranked from common to rare. Pages for earlier days stay in the daily answers archive, so you can play first and check later, and each one has a link to replay that day's dive. Your streak, average and best Daily 7 score are saved in your own browser; replays of earlier days do not extend the streak.

There is one Daily 7 a day. For more, play unlimited rounds of RareGuess: random prompts from the whole bank of 493 prompts, with no limit and no sign-up. Missed a day? Replay it from the archive.
